Plasencia Alma Fuerte Sixto II
As one of the largest and most respected cigar manufacturers and tobacco growers in Nicaragua, Plasencia not only produces cigars for numerous brands around the world but also maintains several premium lines under its own name. Among the most prestigious is the Alma Fuerte series (“Strong Soul” in Spanish), crafted entirely from tobacco grown by Plasencia in Nicaragua, predominantly Criollo ’98, aged for a full decade before rolling.
Every cigar in the Alma Fuerte line is characterized by a full-bodied profile, exceptional tobacco quality, a distinctive vitola, and unique presentation boxes—and the Plasencia Alma Fuerte Sixto II is no exception. It comes in the Hexagono vitola (6 x 60), featuring a unique six-sided box-pressed shape and wrapped in a dark brown Maduro-hued Habano leaf that gives it a bold, commanding appearance.
The meticulous construction immediately catches the eye, while the burn remains flawless throughout the experience. Flavor-wise, the first third delivers notes of nuts, Pedro Ximénez sherry, and a touch of cocoa. In the second third, black pepper and coffee take center stage, while the final third sees the cocoa return alongside an intensified peppery character. Despite its richness, the cigar never becomes aggressive, maintaining a medium-to-full-bodied strength throughout the approximately two hours of smoking pleasure it provides.
