A Post-War Masterpiece: The Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Super Sport
In 1944, Allied forces bombed the Alfa Romeo factory in Italy after discovering it was producing military equipment. But from the ashes of war emerged one of Alfa’s most elegant post-war creations. Production resumed with a range that included a four-door Berlina, a two-seater available as either a coupé or a cabriolet, and a four-seat cabriolet—each bodied by renowned coachbuilders such as Pininfarina, Ghia, and others.
At its heart is a 2.4-liter inline-six engine delivering 110 horsepower, equipped with a dual overhead camshaft—remarkably sophisticated for its era. The X-frame chassis features a unique front suspension with trailing arms and a rear axle supported by torsion bars.
