A Whimsical Swiss Collaboration: Andersen Genève x Konstantin Chaykin
This imaginative creation brings together two visionary independent watchmakers: Svend Andersen, known for crafting bespoke timepieces since the 1980s, and Konstantin Chaykin, who developed Russia’s first tourbillon movement over 15 years ago.
The spark for this collaboration ignited at Baselworld 2017, where Chaykin unveiled his now-iconic Joker watch, featuring rotating eye indicators and a moonphase cleverly integrated as the jester’s grinning mouth. The watch drew immediate praise and quickly sold out.
Andersen, famous for his mechanically animated erotic watches, had previously teamed up with Chaykin on a playful scene inspired by Cassius Coolidge’s “Dogs Playing Poker” series.
In this special Joker edition, the pupils track the time, while the mouth doubles as a moonphase display. A clever twist: the year is shown through rotating gears behind the eyes, each moving at a different speed.
The watch is housed in a 42mm red gold case, adding a rich elegance to its whimsical design.
Price: $88,000.
