The German writing instrument manufacturer Pelikan is launching a special edition fountain pen this fall in a new white hue, seamlessly blending with the brand’s traditional Spanish-inspired Toledo designs. The pen pays homage to the Damascene decorative style, characterized by intricate, swirling patterns. This artistic tradition evolved in Spain over the years and is prominently featured in various architectural landmarks in the city of Toledo.
The new pen is crafted from luxurious materials, including 925 sterling silver, white resin, and palladium plating, with an 18-karat gold nib. The barrel is engraved with two pelican motifs—one depicting a small pelican standing beside a larger one, symbolizing protection and compassion, and the other featuring a pelican with an open beak, representing generosity. These motifs have been a hallmark of the Toledo line since its inception.
