My Father La Opulencia
La Opulencia (“Opulence” in Spanish) represents a meaningful point in the García family’s journey, bridging the legacy of old Cuba with the craftsmanship of modern Nicaragua. The name itself comes from a historic Cuban cigar brand established in Havana in the late 19th century. In 2017, the García family revived it as part of the My Father portfolio, presenting it in traditional wooden boxes, box-pressed vitolas, and a band inspired by an original 1897 design, reimagined for the modern era.
The blend was created to reflect richness and abundance. It features a Mexican San Andrés Rosado Oscuro wrapper—the first Mexican wrapper ever used in the My Father regular production line—covering Corojo and Criollo binders and Cuban-seed Nicaraguan fillers grown on the family’s farms in Estelí, Nicaragua. The blend is designed to deliver depth, balance, and consistency from the first draw through the finish without relying on overwhelming strength in the opening third.
La Opulencia, particularly in the Super Toro vitola, is one of the most refined and cohesive cigars in the My Father portfolio. It offers a medium-to-full-bodied profile built around gentle sweetness, earthy notes, and roasted coffee beans. It pairs beautifully with a cortado or a dark aged rum, showcasing the elegant and meticulously crafted side of the My Father brand.
