The Swiss company Caran d’Ache presents a writing instrument that embodies the essence of its local nature. It serves as a tribute to the Edelweiss (“Leontopodium alpinum”), a flower closely associated with the Alps and one of Switzerland’s most significant symbols. Representing purity and resilience—both of the mountains and the climbers who strive to conquer them—the pen is available in three variations: fountain, ballpoint, and rollerball.
Designed with exceptional delicacy, inspired by the flower itself, the pen is crafted from Swiss beechwood, adorned with Edelweiss motifs, and finished with a white lacquer coating reminiscent of Alpine snow. It is produced in a limited edition of 1,784 individually numbered pieces, marking the year the flower received its current name.
Fountain pen price: 2,000 Swiss francs.
