Flight Log
This extraordinary writing instrument by David Oscarson, one of the leading names in the world of collectible luxury pens, pays tribute to Charles Lindbergh’s historic 1927 solo nonstop flight from New York to Paris.
The David Oscarson Spirit of St. Louis Charles Lindbergh Sunset combines intricate enamel work over sterling silver with 18-karat gold details. Its design draws inspiration from Lindbergh’s legendary aircraft, the Spirit of St. Louis – an especially fitting subject for Oscarson, who was himself born in St. Louis.
The pen incorporates numerous visual references to the pioneering transatlantic flight. The cap features detailed engravings inspired by the flight equipment and instruments used by Lindbergh, along with the flags displayed aboard the aircraft.
The barrel features an engraved map tracing the route of Lindbergh’s historic journey across the Atlantic. At the base of the pen, a relief bears the aircraft’s original designation, RYAN NYP, another reference to the machine that carried Lindbergh into aviation history.
Combining aviation heritage, precious metals and David Oscarson’s elaborate craftsmanship, the Spirit of St. Louis transforms one of the defining achievements of early aviation into a collectible luxury writing instrument.
Price: approximately $7,700–$8,700.
