David Oscarson Tesla Fountain Pen – Art, Science, and Luxury
When we hear the name Tesla, we immediately think of the American electric car manufacturer owned by Elon Musk. Yet long before Tesla cars ever hit the road, there lived and worked the brilliant physicist, electrical engineer, and inventor Nikola Tesla—often dubbed “the Wizard of the West”—after whom the company was named.
American sculptor and master craftsman David Oscarson, renowned for his extraordinary writing instruments, has recently unveiled a limited-edition pen collection paying tribute to Tesla’s groundbreaking legacy. Each pen is rich with symbolic elements that reflect Tesla’s revolutionary ideas and visionary mind.
Handcrafted from sterling silver, the pens are adorned with intricate motifs, including a rotating magnetic field, the alternating current symbol, an engraved Tesla coil, illustrations of a generator and induction motor, and even an X-ray image of Tesla’s hand. One particularly evocative detail is the decoration of Tesla’s beloved white dove, referencing the inventor’s famously eccentric and deeply personal affection for the bird.
The collection is offered in three color variations—transparent red, deep purple, and moss black—with 86 fountain pens and ballpoint pens produced in each color.
Ballpoint pen price: $6,500.
