The Belgian racing driver Tony Gillet is the mind and entrepreneur behind the Vertigo 5 Spirit. The first Vertigo model was born in 1992 and has since undergone several iterations. The current version is equipped with a 3-liter Ferrari-Maserati V8 engine producing 420 horsepower. In terms of supercars, this isn’t an overwhelming output, but it’s paired with a featherlight weight of around 620 kg, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. This is already an impressive figure, and the low weight also gives the Vertigo excellent road/track handling. The 6-speed gearbox is manual, with Sequential operation similar to motorcycles. The car’s low weight is also reflected in its attractive price of just $280,000.
