Clos Apalta Hotel operates within a family villa nestled in the foothills of the Apalta Valley, the heart of Chile’s wine region, just an hour’s drive from the capital city of Santiago. Surrounded by vineyards and adjacent to the family winery, the villa offers a serene retreat. The flagship wine of the estate, also named Clos Apalta, is a deep red wine with French roots and powerful fruity aromas. It is crafted from a blend of Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.

From every room in the villa and the small houses hidden among the shrubbery on the hillsides, guests can enjoy views of the vineyards sprawling across the valley, covering approximately 600 acres. Visitors can arrange a day tour of the winery for tastings, and by appointment, they can even glimpse into the family cellar of the owners. Among the vineyards, guests can explore on excellent Chilean horses, ride bicycles, or hike on foot. Afterwards, they can relax in the spa or by the pool, which offers an excellent vantage point overlooking the vineyards.

The Apalta Valley is part of a broader region known as Colchagua, encompassing around 650 acres of vineyards and wineries where the majority of Chilean wine is produced. In recent years, it has gained international acclaim among fine wines. Visiting wineries in Colchagua is also recommended and can be arranged.
The hotel restaurant offers gourmet meals with local flavors (the Chilean salmon comes highly recommended), paired with local wines. Afterwards, guests can unwind by the pool or near the roaring fireplace, depending on the season. They can choose from a selection of fine Cuban cigars provided to guests and enjoy it with a glass of Chilean pisco or French cognac.
