Koenigsegg CC850 — The Fastest Manual on Earth
Twenty years after the birth of the CC8S — the car that put Koenigsegg on the map — Christian von Koenigsegg celebrates his 50th birthday by reimagining that iconic machine. Named in honor of the founder himself, the CC850 is a tribute to driver-focused engineering at its finest. “I wanted to build a car that’s purely about the driver,” he says.
Like the legendary One:1, the CC850 achieves a perfect 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, boasting 1,385 hp matched by 1,385 kg. Initially limited to 50 units, an additional 20 were added due to overwhelming demand.
While it tips its hat to the CC8S, the CC850 shares its DNA with the awe-inspiring Jesko. Its standout feature? A revolutionary transmission that allows the driver to switch between a 9-speed automatic and a 6-speed gated manual — making it the fastest manual production car ever built. At its core: a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 that catapults the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, on its way to a staggering 450 km/h top speed.
Design-wise, there’s no room for wasted space. Everything is about aerodynamics and performance, a vision crafted by Sasha Selipanov — the Georgian-born design wizard formerly of Bugatti. Inside and out, the CC850 is sculpted perfection, engineered to keep your hands glued to the wheel and a grin permanently etched on your face.
Bottom line: The ultimate Scandinavian surprise for true drivers.
Price: Around $3.65 million
