McLaren has a division called Ultimate, which focuses on the most extreme models of the manufacturer, and the Elva model is one of them. A car that doesn’t need a destination to drive to and isn’t excited about a race track. It was created to give its owners one thing and one thing only: pure driving pleasure. No compromises, just enjoyment. The goal is to touch the edges of the senses and awaken them with the most direct and immediate connection between the driver, the car, and the surroundings. Driving in the open air full of the scent of a forest after rain, with the roar of the engine echoing among the trees. Light in an incomprehensible way and incredibly powerful.
The shape of the Elva serves its purpose and is designed to cut through the air with minimal resistance and drag. For this purpose, it is equipped with an active airflow management system, which elevates the airflow above the open cabin and leaves the bewildered driver and passenger next to him inside a “bubble” of calm air. And it is also the lightest car McLaren has ever produced.
The engine is called the Sena, named after the legendary Formula 1 driver, and it produces 815 horsepower from a twin-turbo V8 engine with a displacement of four liters. It is faster than Senna’s own Formula car. The acceleration will bring the car to 200 km/h in 6.7 seconds.
The unique structure of the car allows for an original integration of carbon panels, which rise and merge into the passenger compartment—the boundaries blurred in the transition from inside to outside.
The Elva was produced in a limited edition, with only 399 units.
Bottom line: the third car in the parking lot
