An Italian Masterpiece
The pen’s body captures the colors of the Mediterranean, drawing inspiration from classic models preserved in Montegrappa’s museum. Hand-finished 925 sterling silver details combine traditional Italian craftsmanship with modern techniques.
Montegrappa, Italy’s oldest manufacturer of fine writing instruments, presents the Extra 1930 Mediterranean Blue, a luxury fountain pen paying tribute to one of the company’s historic designs from the 1930s.
The pen is crafted from rare Mazzucchelli celluloid, produced by the renowned Italian materials manufacturer. Its distinctive body features rich Mediterranean blue tones inspired by vintage Montegrappa writing instruments preserved in the brand’s museum.
The design is complemented by 925 sterling silver trim, meticulously finished by hand using a combination of traditional Italian techniques and modern craftsmanship. Together, the shimmering silver and deep Mediterranean hues give the pen a distinctly Italian character.
At the heart of the Extra 1930 Mediterranean Blue is a handcrafted 18-karat gold nib, reinforcing its position among Montegrappa’s prestigious writing instruments.
Made Personal with Extra Custom
Montegrappa also offers extensive personalization through its Extra Custom program. Buyers can configure around ten different elements of the writing instrument, including engraving on the cap and the addition of a personal dedication.
Blending Italian heritage, precious materials and bespoke craftsmanship, the Montegrappa Extra 1930 Mediterranean Blue is more than a writing instrument – it is a contemporary interpretation of a classic Italian design.
