The word “Ulusaba,” in the language of the local Shangaan tribe, means “Land Without Fear,” as most tribe members built their homes on the area’s hills – strategic points from which they could watch for approaching strangers and prevent surprises. Today, the resort’s lodges are situated on the highest hill, hidden within the dense foliage and overlooking the vast landscapes.
Every day, guests can embark on a several-hour safari tour through the open terrain, guided by experienced trackers who navigate the vehicle to where the animals roam freely. Visitors to the lodge who have gone on safari tours report sightings of herds of elephants passing by, lions hunting antelope before their eyes, rhinos peacefully foraging for vegetation, cheetahs training, and more.
