The Swedish company Koenigsegg is celebrating its twentieth anniversary with the Competition Coupe 850, which boasts a five-liter V12 engine that produces 1,185 horsepower using regular premium gasoline, or 1,385 horsepower with high-octane fuel. The major innovation is a nine-speed automatic transmission that can also be manually operated through a traditional clutch. The company’s founder and owner, Christian von Koenigsegg, takes pride in this option, which makes the CC850 the fastest manual car in the world. Initially, a production series of only fifty units was planned, but due to high demand, the quantity has been increased to seventy cars. It’s a shame that most of them will likely spend most of their time in private garages rather than showcasing their performance on the road. The price: 3.65 million Euros before taxes.
