Italian writing instrument brand Scribo, based in Bologna in the Emilia-Romagna region, was founded by former employees of the historic Italian luxury pen manufacturer OMAS, carrying forward a tradition of handcrafted production and classic Italian design.
The Scribo La Tradizionale LE is produced in a highly exclusive limited edition of only 104 pieces and pays tribute to one of Emilia-Romagna’s most celebrated culinary treasures: Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena, the traditional balsamic vinegar of Modena.
Created in collaboration with acclaimed Italian chef Massimo Bottura, the pen is entirely handcrafted from oak reclaimed from barrels used to age traditional balsamic vinegar. The wood gives the writing instrument a direct material connection to the gastronomic heritage that inspired it.
The presentation is equally distinctive. Each pen comes in a wooden box accompanied by a bottle of vinegar-colored ink and a special bottle of aged traditional balsamic vinegar from Modena with a gold-colored capsule.
By bringing together fine writing, Italian gastronomy and traditional craftsmanship, the Scribo La Tradizionale LE transforms a material associated with one of Italy’s most iconic culinary products into an unusual and highly collectible writing instrument.
Price: approximately €3,000.
