Tal R – this is the name chosen by the painter and sculptor, born in Israel as Tal Rosenzwig, who moved to Denmark with his family when he was one year old. He is one of the most productive and prominent artists of today. Since the 1990s, he has been exhibiting worldwide, primarily in Europe, and his art is represented in numerous important collections. He is influenced by the styles of other artists, such as Pablo Picasso and Francis Picabia, and combines techniques and materials, creating paintings, collages, sculptures, and furniture. Tal R is an enthusiastic observer, drawing inspiration from both reality and his imagination, and his works appear free-spirited and wild.
His distinctive style is clearly evident in his exhibition Academy of Tal R, where he expresses the hidden spaces of modern life. The exhibition was organized by the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, USA (and was presented there from May to September 2017) in collaboration with the Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam, Netherlands, where it was displayed until January 14, 2018.

In another of his exhibitions, The Shlomo (2013-2012), Tal R presented printed canvas works with psychedelic stripes, often accompanied by a character named Shlomo (the artist’s middle name).
The unique hues in his works are achieved by mixing colors with a pigment made from rabbit skin glue, which leads to a rapid drying of the pieces. He applies the paint quickly and confidently, and the result appears as a type of surface, even when depicting scenes of depth and mystery.
Bottom line: Free, wild, full of life.
