There’s no doubt that the band of Vegueros cigars stands out with its modern, somewhat graphic design, distinguishing it from other Cuban brands. One of the reasons for this could be that it’s the youngest brand of Habanos S.A. to date (founded in 1996). According to the company, the brand was created in tribute to the generations of tobacco growers from Pinar del Río (the name in Spanish means “farm workers”), who, “following tradition, would roll cigars for themselves using the tobacco they grew. Since this was done in the world’s most sought-after region, visitors were always curious to try them,” according to Habanos. The cigars of the brand are produced at the Francisco Donatién factory in Pinar del Río.
The new cigar, launched in late 2023, Centro Gordos, is a Petit Robusto, with the thickest ring gauge for the brand at 4 x 54. It is made from whole leaves of Vuelta Abajo tobacco, of course. With a medium strength, it comes in convenient tin boxes, each containing 16 cigars.
