On the pen, made of sterling silver, there are illustrations of characters associated with the brand, including Harry Potter, characters from “The Lord of the Rings,” DC Comics superheroes, the clown Pennywise from “It,” and others.
In 2023, the giant film and media conglomerate Warner Bros. celebrated its centennial anniversary. Italian writing instrument manufacturer Montegrappa marked the occasion by launching a limited edition inspired by several iconic stories and historical figures associated with Warner Bros. The pen, made of sterling silver with a satin finish, features illustrations of characters synonymous with the brand, including Harry Potter, characters from “The Lord of the Rings,” DC Comics superheroes, Pennywise from “It,” and others. Additionally, a prominent symbol of the company, the Warner Bros. Water Tower located at its Burbank, California studio, is depicted both as a finial and intricately designed on the pen itself, alongside the WB logo.
The pen’s ornamentation is meticulously crafted using embossing techniques, blending vintage style with contemporary graphics. On its body, you’ll find the Montegrappa logo within a star reminiscent of Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, Cartouche (an oval-shaped hieroglyphic sign surrounding the text, noting a king’s son) in the shape of the Warner Bros. logo, and a sculpted cap featuring the company’s logo, among other details.
This limited production edition comes in two versions: the first includes 230 fountain pens with a piston mechanism and a custom-made (6mm) nib made of 18-karat white gold, adorned with the Warner Bros. centennial logo; the second version consists of 100 rollerball pens.
Bottom line: a tale from the movies.
Price: Approximately 6,000 euros.
