Between the Wars: 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Super Sport

In 1929, Alfa Romeo introduced a car that blended style, performance, and innovation — the 6C 1750 Super Sport.

It came with a 1.75-liter inline-six engine, dual overhead camshafts, and an optional supercharger. This setup gave it strong performance for the time. Alfa also shortened the wheelbase to just 274 cm, making the car more agile and responsive on the road.

The company built only 121 units, making it one of Alfa Romeo’s most sought-after and successful models of the era. At launch, the car cost 75,000 lire — a fortune in the late 1920s.

Its beauty matched its engineering. The high-gloss piano black paint, cognac-colored leather upholstery, and wire-spoke wheels created a refined, timeless look that still turns heads.
