The 6C is one of the cars that helped establish Alfa Romeo’s reputation during the marque’s formative years, with the number 6 referring to the engine’s six cylinders.
Lightness, agility, power, and reliability were among the defining qualities of the 6C. Together, they delivered outstanding performance and remarkable success in competition, where the Alfa frequently challenged Bugatti and Maserati machines equipped with larger-displacement engines.
The 1750 versions of the 6C won nearly every major race of their era, including the legendary Mille Miglia and the 24 Hours of Spa.
As was customary in those years, chassis were clothed by a variety of independent coachbuilders, which means that finding two completely identical examples today is exceptionally difficult. This particular car features coachwork by Figoni, one of the celebrated names of European coachbuilding, and is one of just 30 examples built that year.
Price: $1.2 million.
