Nestled in the enchanting Stags Leap District on the eastern side of Napa Valley, an area renowned for its distinctive soils and its ability to produce Cabernet Sauvignon of remarkable elegance, Pine Ridge Vineyards is quite literally hidden among the hills.
Founded in 1978, the winery quickly established itself as a leading producer of California wines inspired by the classic Bordeaux tradition, with a strong emphasis on expressing the distinctive terroir of Napa Valley’s individual growing regions.
One of the estate’s defining features is the combination of vineyards planted on dramatic slopes and an impressive underground aging environment, where wines can mature under naturally stable conditions throughout the year.

A Winery Hidden Beneath the Hills
The name Pine Ridge, referring to the pine-covered ridge surrounding the estate, perfectly reflects the winery’s striking setting. Above ground, tall pine trees and green hills create a secluded and almost mysterious atmosphere.
Yet the real magic lies underground.
A network of wine caves has been carved deep into the hillside, creating an atmospheric environment for aging wine. Walking through the dimly lit caves, surrounded by the aromas of oak barrels and maturing wine, visitors eventually reach intimate tasting spaces carved into the rock.
The result is an immersive experience that combines wine, architecture and the landscape of Napa Valley in an unusually intimate setting.
Fortis Cabernet Sauvignon – The Flagship Wine

At the pinnacle of Pine Ridge Vineyards’ winemaking is Fortis Cabernet Sauvignon, produced from carefully selected vineyard lots and representing the estate’s most ambitious expression of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Fortis reveals a rich and sensual aromatic profile, with notes of black raspberry, blueberry, licorice, toasted vanilla and espresso.
On the palate, the wine is generous and rounded, with a silky texture and tannins that are soft yet clearly defined. The long, concentrated finish brings additional nuances of tobacco and cocoa, completing a powerful yet polished Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
