Aston Martin AM37: The $1.5 Million Powerboat Inspired by James Bond
James Bond and Aston Martin have shared a love story since the very first gear shift. In fact, the films of Her Majesty’s secret agent—from the 1960s through the mid-1970s—served as launch platforms for many Aston Martin models, which were introduced to the public in spectacular chases filled with dazzling cinematic effects.
Now the agent with a license to kill—who in several films seems to possess a license to sail as well—can charge across the waves in a sport boat perfectly tailored to his taste. The AM37 looks very much like an amphibious Aston Martin.
The resemblance begins in the cockpit. The helm features a leather-wrapped steering wheel borrowed directly from the Aston Martin DBX crossover, complete with its signature light leather tones. A dark glass windscreen frames a dashboard heavily inspired by Aston Martin’s coupe models, while a side grab handle comes straight from the brand’s iconic designs of the 1960s.

Above all, however, the AM37 is a true sports boat: compact (11 meters long and 3.7 meters wide), sharply sculpted, and open to the elements like a high-performance convertible. Twin Mercury Racing V8 engines produce a combined output of more than 1,000 horsepower, propelling the boat to a top speed of 50 knots (92 km/h). Considering that moving across water requires roughly ten times more energy than traveling on land, that is seriously fast.
The boat itself was built by the Dutch shipyard Quintessence, which established a dedicated facility near Southampton in southern England specifically for the project—allowing it to breathe in British style directly. Judging by the result, the effort paid off.
Price: $1.5 million
