This timepiece, from the renowned British manufacturer Bremont, is dedicated to the esteemed British physicist Stephen Hawking and his research into the mysteries of the universe and time. The 18-carat rose gold version of the model is a limited edition of only 88 pieces, marking the year Stephen Hawking’s seminal book A Brief History of Time was published. The watch’s serial number is printed on original paper bearing one of Hawking’s important articles. On the back of the watch, four wood samples are embedded, taken from the drawer of the writing desk that Hawking inherited from his grandmother. The watch also includes a piece of meteorite to symbolize the universe, along with a star engraving replicating the night sky over Oxford on the day Hawking was born. On the front of the 41mm dial, there is a calendar and a small window featuring the seconds hand, designed to resemble a measuring instrument. Price: approximately £18,000.
