For those who love music and are also enthusiasts of gadgets related to the automotive world, here you will find a combination of both worlds. The company iXOOST offers an interesting device that can also be considered a work of art. The small company, located in the city of Modena in northern Italy (the city of Lamborghini), designs and handcrafts a charging and sound station for Apple devices (iPhone and iPod) called OTTO. It streams audio wirelessly via Bluetooth.
The unique system, which blends acoustics from the automotive world and components from the digital audio realm, includes five speakers (tweeter, mid-range, extended range, active subwoofer, and crossover) and four amplifiers with a power of 25 watts each. They look as if they are part of the exhaust system of a sports car, resembling the tailpipes of exotic sports cars like Lotus, Williams, Koenigsegg, and others. There is an option for personalization according to the buyer’s taste, whether the setup is designed to mimic the exhausts of exotic sports cars or based on the number of cylinders – six, eight, or ten. The implication is that, much like in the automotive world where a more powerful engine provides improved performance, here, with more speakers (corresponding to cylinders), the music emanating from them is expected to be more complete.
OTTO is made from a combination of materials commonly found in the mechanics of exotic vehicles: titanium, inconel (an alloy primarily composed of nickel and chromium, resistant to high temperatures), and leather. As for the finishing style, you can choose between a silver finish or a combination of several colors.
In summary, it’s a piece of art inspired by the automotive world.
Price: Ten thousand euros.
