A Third-Generation Initiative – Grönefeld 1941 Grönograaf Stainless Steel
Grönefeld is a Dutch, family-owned watchmaking company that has been crafting timepieces since 1912. Today, the business is led by brothers Bart and Tim Grönefeld, the third generation of the founding family.
With the 1941 Grönograaf, the brothers introduced the brand’s very first chronograph. The name pays tribute to the year of birth of their father, underscoring the deeply personal nature of the project. Measuring 40 mm in diameter, the watch preserves the classic hallmarks of traditional chronograph construction while incorporating several noteworthy innovations.
Among them is the Soft Reset mechanism, designed to reduce stress on the chronograph components and enhance long-term reliability. Powering the watch is an in-house caliber composed of approximately 400 individual components, reflecting Grönefeld’s uncompromising approach to high-end horology.
The 1941 Grönograaf was produced in a limited edition of 188 pieces in stainless steel, alongside an ultra-rare run of 25 pieces in tantalum.
Price: approximately €155,000 for the stainless-steel version.
