By the late 1960s, Ferrari had significant racing experience with mid-engine cars, and the “Dino” (named after the founder’s young son) was one of the first models to bring this technology from the racetrack to the road. The car featured a 6-cylinder engine mounted in the center, producing 192 horsepower, which easily propelled its lightweight aluminum body weighing just one ton. The model update saw a transition to a steel body (to reduce production costs), with an increase in engine power as compensation. The son Dino passed away at the age of 24, and the car became associated with him. Its price: €400,000.
