On the left side of the vehicle-shaped clock, digital-style numerals display the time. Its "engine" is intentionally exposed—not just for show. When the external handbrake is moved, the engine can be detached and transforms into a gas lighter for cigars.

L’Epée 1839 T-35 – A Racing-Inspired Masterpiece for Your Desk

If your living room, library, or study feels like it’s missing something, the T-35 desk clock might be exactly what you’re yearning for. This striking piece is a replica of a 1930s race car that functions as both a digital clock and a cigar lighter—but above all, it’s a stunning and truly unique decorative object.

Crafted by L’Epée 1839, one of the world’s oldest clockmakers, the T-35 is built like a real car, with an aluminum body and a chassis and engine made of steel. On the left side of the vehicle-shaped clock, digital-style numerals display the time. A glass dome over the driver’s seat can be rotated to set the time. The engine is deliberately exposed—because when you pull the external handbrake, it detaches and becomes a gas lighter for cigars.

Dimensions: Length – 43 cm, Width – 18 cm, Height – 11.9 cm, Weight – 4.52 kg.
Bold. Substantial. Unforgettable.

L’Epée 1839 T-35 – A Clock Built to Race

The T-35 is the perfect conversation starter for anyone passionate about vintage race cars. It’s a remarkably faithful tribute to the legendary Bugatti Type 35—a racing icon launched in 1924 that went on to win over a thousand races by 1930, including the 1926 World Manufacturers’ Championship. At the time, it was the most successful race car in the world—and remains one of the most celebrated in motorsport history.

Long before Formula 1 was even conceived, cars like the Type 35 competed in both circuit and open-road races. The original vehicle was powered by a straight-eight engine, producing up to 140 horsepower and reaching speeds of 184 km/h in its early versions, and up to 210 km/h in the later models. Remarkably, it was also available for private purchase—an authentic race car for those who could afford the ultimate driving machine.

Today, for about the same price the original fetched in the 1920s, you can indulge in a desktop version: a precise replica, now cleverly reimagined as a timepiece and cigar lighter in one.

Bottom line: A clock built to race.
Price: Approximately $42,000
