Jacob & Co. Astronomia Solar Jewelry Planets Zodiac White Gold: A Mini Solar System on the Wrist

Jacob & Co. is known for bold creativity. The brand builds watches with daring ideas and extreme complexity. That’s why the famous Astronomia line draws so much attention. With this model, Jacob & Co. aims to give Astronomia a more artistic twist. Most of all, it does so with a striking mechanical display of our solar system.

A rotating “solar system” on both sides

This watch uses an 18K white gold case. On the front, the planets appear as half-spheres made from semi-precious stones. They sit above a blue titanium base. That base rotates counterclockwise through 360 degrees every ten minutes. As a result, the dial looks alive, like an orbiting system.

On the back, the motion continues. More planetary elements rotate clockwise, also once every ten minutes. So, the watch delivers movement from every angle.

Gemstones, handcraft, and the Jacob Cut “Sun”

The celestial details rely on careful handwork. For example, the “Sun” is a glowing yellow gemstone. It uses the brand’s signature Jacob Cut, with 288 facets. In addition, Jacob & Co. uses stones such as white granite, rhodonite, pietersite, tiger’s eye, and blue calcite. Together, they build a planet-like look with strong color and texture.

Size, zodiac dial, and time display

The case is intentionally bold. It measures about 45mm across and about 21mm thick. Time appears on a small sub-dial. Instead of regular hour markers, you get zodiac illustrations. This choice adds astrology to the astronomy theme.

Movement: flying tourbillon and manual winding

Mechanically, the watch stays true to high horology. It features a flying tourbillon under the sapphire crystal. It also uses manual winding. Furthermore, it offers a stated 48-hour power reserve.

Price: €386,400

Bottom line: Astronomia, turned up to eleven

This is not a quiet dress watch. Instead, it’s a kinetic sculpture for the wrist. It mixes gemstone artistry with constant motion and serious mechanics. If you want maximum theater in a luxury astronomical watch, this piece delivers.
