Breguet Marine Hora Mundi 5555
Launched to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the prestigious Breguet brand, founded by the legendary watchmaker Abraham-Louis Breguet, one of the pioneers of horology, this special limited edition takes the Marine collection’s nautical heritage a step further. It also pays tribute to Abraham-Louis Breguet’s appointment as watchmaker to the French Royal Navy.
Measuring 43.9 mm in diameter, the watch is crafted from Breguet Gold, a warm and rich alloy inspired by the shades of gold used by 18th-century watchmakers. The dial, undoubtedly the centerpiece of the watch, consists of two layers. The lower layer is a gold dial decorated with hand-executed guilloché engraving, depicting the globe’s latitude and longitude lines against a deep blue gradient background. Above it sits a transparent sapphire layer, on which the continents have been meticulously painted using the Grand Feu enamel technique.

Inspired by satellite imagery of Earth at night, the dial incorporates luminescent enamel that creates a glowing depiction of cities after dark. At the heart of the watch beats an in-house automatic caliber offering a 55-hour power reserve.
Breguet’s patented Hora Mundi module enables instant switching between two pre-programmed time zones at the push of a button. Thanks to an ingenious mechanical memory system, the hands, date display, and day/night indicator all “jump” simultaneously to the new time zone, making the watch an ideal companion for frequent travelers.
Additional highlights include blue Roman numerals in gold with light-gray Super-LumiNova, the brand’s signature pomme-style hour and minute hands, and a host of refined finishing details.
The watch is water-resistant to 100 meters, an impressive achievement considering the complexity of its movement.
Bottom Line: A masterful Hora Mundi performance celebrating 250 years of haute horlogerie.
Price: Approximately €104,700.
