The historic American jewelry and watch house Tiffany & Co., whose roots stretch back to the 19th century, has a long association with precision timing and chronograph watches.
The new Tiffany & Co. Timer celebrates the 160th anniversary of Tiffany Timing, marking the legacy of one of the earliest stopwatches produced in the United States.
The watch features a 40 mm platinum case and is produced in a highly exclusive limited edition of just 60 pieces.
Its chronograph complication is presented with notable restraint, allowing the watch to retain an elegant appearance while incorporating elements closely associated with Tiffany & Co.’s world of fine jewelry.
Among its most striking details are the hour markers, set with baguette-cut diamonds. Characterized by their elongated rectangular shape and step-cut facets, the diamonds bring an unmistakable jewelry character to the dial without overwhelming its refined design.
Another remarkable detail is hidden within the movement. On the rotor sits a miniature interpretation of Bird on a Rock, crafted in gold. The celebrated motif was originally created for Tiffany & Co. in 1956 by Jean Schlumberger, one of the most influential jewelry designers of the 20th century.
This miniature golden bird transforms the mechanical movement into another canvas for Tiffany’s decorative heritage, creating a direct connection between fine watchmaking and the house’s iconic jewelry designs.
