Arnold & Son, the Swiss watchmaker with British roots, celebrates the Chinese Year of the Horse with an exceptionally artistic interpretation of its renowned Perpetual Moon collection.
The watch features a 41.5 mm case crafted from polished 18-karat red gold, providing a warm and luxurious frame for one of the model’s most spectacular elements: its dial.
Designed to evoke a star-filled night sky, the dial is made from black aventurine glass, whose shimmering surface creates a dramatic celestial backdrop.
At the heart of the composition is, naturally, the horse itself. Crafted from 18-karat red gold, the figure is meticulously engraved and finished by hand, giving it remarkable depth and an almost three-dimensional presence.
Surrounding the horse is a dramatic volcanic landscape featuring engraved basalt rocks enhanced with hand-painted details. Gold powder creates trails of sparkling red and yellow tones, adding another dimension to the scene and producing a striking visual effect in darkness.
Dominating the upper portion of the dial is the watch’s signature moon-phase display, featuring a hand-painted mother-of-pearl moon. Set against the aventurine night sky, it reinforces the celestial character for which Arnold & Son’s Perpetual Moon collection is known.
