The brand Greubel Forsey, founded in 2004, took a different path, refusing to accept the notion that “everything has already been done” in haute horlogerie. This creation is a testament to that philosophy. It begins with an extraordinary 39.6 mm gold case, covered with a domed sapphire crystal that allows room for a multi-level dial, creating a strong three-dimensional effect.
What appears to be the dial is, in fact, also the heart of the caliber, crafted from titanium with a rugged, textured finish. Across various levels, you’ll find the manually wound caliber with a three-day power reserve. This unique movement includes two rapidly oscillating mainsprings, one of which is prominently visible on the front. The balance bridge is made from a silver-nickel alloy, adding to the refinement.
The functions include hour and minute display, a small seconds subdial at eight o’clock, and a power reserve indicator. Price: approximately $195,000.
