Talisker Distillery is situated in the small village of Carbost on the Minginish peninsula on the Isle of Skye. It is operated by the beverage giant Diageo as one of its twelve distilleries. Recognized as a producer of the finest single malt Scotch whisky, it is a drink with prestige and award-winning acclaim. Founded in 1830 by Hugh MacAskill, who named it Talisker after his private estate.

In 1960, the distillery experienced a significant fire, leading to substantial changes in equipment during the reconstruction, including a shift to steam heating in copper pot stills and advancements in production processes. Today, the distillery produces approximately 3.5 million liters of whisky per year.
