Tuscany represents Italy at its finest, and Chianti is the unmistakable symbol of Tuscany. At the heart of Chianti lies Sangiovese, the grape that defines most of the region’s wines. Frescobaldi Castello Nipozzano, one of Tuscany’s oldest and most celebrated wineries, proudly carries the banner of the region’s wine heritage, producing outstanding wines led by its renowned Sangiovese.

Walking through the estate feels like stepping into a time tunnel spanning almost seven centuries and thirty generations of the Frescobaldi family. Since 1308, the winery has remained within its original stone walls, preserving an extraordinary sense of continuity and tradition. Castello Nipozzano is one of the flagship estates of the prestigious Frescobaldi family, which owns 11 wineries throughout Italy, including six in Tuscany.

Its visitor center enriches the local cultural scene while celebrating the winery’s remarkable history. Deep purple in color, it offers an evolving bouquet of aromas and flavors throughout the tasting experience. Layers of spice intertwine with tart local fruit, blackcurrants, ripe strawberries, and subtle hints of green citrus. The palate is full-bodied, beautifully balanced, and remarkably versatile, making it an excellent companion to a wide range of pasta dishes.
