The Virus You’d Love to Catch: Vyrus Alyen 988
It’s impossible to ignore the design language of the Italian Vyrus workshop—especially when its unmistakable signature is a highly unconventional front suspension featuring a single-sided front swingarm and a central steering hub. This technology traces its roots back to the 1980s, when the company’s founders were involved in its early development.
The motorcycle before you is called the Alyen 988, and it truly looks extraterrestrial. Sharp, angular body panels create the illusion that the entire machine is perpetually lunging forward, as if frozen mid-attack.
Power comes from Ducati’s Panigale 1299 engine—one of the most powerful production V-twin units ever built. With a displacement of 1,285 cc, it delivers an astonishing 205 horsepower at 10,500 rpm.
Production was limited to just 20 units, meaning you’re statistically more likely to encounter a real alien than to see one of these motorcycles on the road. And the price? Unsurprisingly out of this world: $193,000.
