The Future of Cruisers: Zillers BMW R 18
For more than five months, the Russian workshop Zillers labored over a machine that looks heavy and road-hugging—yet beneath the surface, the body is crafted from lightweight carbon fiber. From the original cruiser DNA of the BMW R 18, only the essentials remain: the frame, engine, and wiring. Everything else has been completely reimagined.
The suspension, for example, is a proprietary air system developed in-house by Zillers. The wheels are CNC-machined, the exhaust system is made of titanium, and every single component—from the footpegs to the tip of the fuel tank—has been handcrafted and meticulously finished.
Speaking of the fuel tank, the instrument cluster has been relocated there and cleverly folds back when it’s time to refuel. Production will be limited to just 13 units. Pricing has yet to be announced—but don’t worry: you can still purchase a full body kit for your own R 18 for a cool $45,000.
