All in the Family – 1930 Cadillac V16 Roadster by Fleetwood
The elegant brown 1930 Cadillac V16 Roadster by Fleetwood has a story as refined as its craftsmanship. In 1933, John Moir of Worcester, Massachusetts bought the car. For almost 80 years, it stayed in the Moir family. Each generation drove it—sometimes for daily trips, other times for long journeys across America.
The car remains in perfect, original condition. The only change is a small grille screen that protects against flying gravel. Under the hood sits the legendary V16 engine. Cadillac developed it in strict secrecy to deliver both strong power and quiet performance.
In the 1930s, buyers could order the Cadillac Sixteen with a complete body. Others chose only the chassis and engine, then hired a coachbuilder for a custom design.
Cadillac produced the V16 until 1940. Known also as the Cadillac Sixteen, it is one of the most desired luxury cars in American history. This example, preserved with care and full authenticity, recently sold for $1.1 million.
