The luxury brand Montblanc, responsible for many exquisite models of watches and pens, began its journey in the world of writing instruments in 1906 with the production of the first Maison pen. Later came the iconic Meisterstück pen, which revolutionized writing standards. The brand is considered a pioneer in every sense, perhaps explaining its homage in the current collection to Phileas Fogg, the adventurous hero from Jules Verne’s novel “Around the World in 80 Days,” published in 1872—a character who embodies innovation and the ability to push boundaries when setting goals.
The new Meisterstück series is essentially the second edition in the Montblanc Meisterstück Around The World in 80 Days collection, starting where the previous edition left off: the journey of Phileas Fogg and his assistant Passepartout from Bombay, India to Yokohama, Japan. The pens combine design elements inspired by India, China, and Japan, as well as the journey described in the book. Among other features, you’ll find elements resembling coins from those countries, an illustration of the royal elephant that carried the adventurers through the jungle, the number “80” at the top end, a trident symbol on the grip to signify Fogg’s love for the card game “Whist,” and the list goes on.
The collection, comprising 811 items crafted from luxurious materials such as blue lacquer and platinum coating, includes three series—LeGrand & Classique, Doué Classique, and Solitaire LeGrand—distinguished by their designs and material compositions. Each series offers three versions: fountain pen, rollerball, and ballpoint pen.
