Since its founding in 1973, the Italian writing instrument company Stipula (“Loyalty”) has focused on creating special pens—many of them with a specific theme and an antique style. The pens in the DaVinci Capless Celluloid edition are designed inspired by the Italian genius Leonardo da Vinci. They feature celluloid materials in varying shades, the kind of materials that da Vinci used in his various inventions. The nib is made of 14-carat gold, and around it are gold decorations, the company logo, and the signature “Da Vinci.” The pens do not have a cap; instead, they feature an innovative twist-opening mechanism developed by the company. This is a limited edition of only 18 pieces, each presented with an ink bottle, in a luxurious earth-tone packaging. The price: approximately 1,850 euros.
