After 12 years working for Australian shipbuilder Oceanfast, Sam Sorgiovanni opened his own studio in 1997, specializing in luxury yacht exterior and interior design. In his words, the greatest design challenge is successfully blending functional elements with the clients’ dreams.
One of Sorgiovanni’s most iconic yachts is White Rabbit—a giant 84-meter trimaran (like a catamaran, but with three hulls), built in 2018 at the Australian shipyard Echo Yachts, with Sorgiovanni responsible for the design. The yacht features 11 lavish suites for 30 guests, including two master suites and three VIP suites, spread across 1,200 square meters of interior space. The design combines a refined Art Deco language with jellyfish-inspired lighting and brushed Tasmanian oak paneling in a checkerboard pattern. The main salon was conceived to separate generations—a modern zone for younger guests alongside a classic area for adults. Leisure spaces include a bar, a games room, and multiple entertaining areas.

Another well-known project is Jubilee, Oceanco’s 110-meter superyacht, where Sorgiovanni handled the interior design only. The concept blends Western and Arabic influences, inspired by Casablanca, Morocco. The interiors are defined by an exceptionally generous use of marble and natural stone. According to various estimates, the yacht contains the largest quantity of marble and stone ever installed on a vessel. The main salon ceiling—spanning 135 square meters—is clad in gold-toned aluminum strips, while the floors are finished with matching silk rugs.
The studio’s headquarters are in Australia, and a new office has recently opened in Monaco.
