Packard Twelve Sport Coupe by LeBaron, 1934
The green Packard represents the golden age of the American manufacturer. It is the first of only four examples produced in 1934. Styled with elegant, flowing curves, the car is almost entirely free of straight lines—apart from its distinctive chrome-plated grille. The body, finished in deep bottle green, is accented with gold detailing and chrome trim, highlighting what was considered ultra-modern design at the time.
The automobile was offered in two body styles: the Speedster and the dramatic Sport Coupe seen here. The Packard Twelve was regarded as a direct competitor to the Mercedes-Benz 500 K Autobahnkurier, introduced the same year, earning it the nickname “The American Autobahn Car.”
The body was designed by Count Alexis de Sakhnoffsky and built by the renowned LeBaron coachworks.
Price: $2.75 million.
