One of the unique features of the car is its battery – flat in shape and flush with the floor of the car. It weighs 84 kg. Its charging time does not exceed 30 minutes – thanks to the manufacturer’s fast charging technology – and when fully charged it provides a range of about 300 km.
The car combines four electric motors – one for each wheel – with a total output of 536 horsepower. These motors need to propel a weight of only about 900 kg, and it is reasonable to assume that they will not struggle with this, as the torque output is about 1000 Nm – which is a lot of torque. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes less than four seconds, and the top speed is around 270 km/h.
Despite its German origin, it is not difficult to identify Italian influences in the design – it seems that they came from cars like the Ferrari Enzo and the Lamborghini Murciélago. There is also a bit of the Ford GT40 (correct, not Italian, but definitely a supercar). In any case, the Alpha-2 looks very impressive and is definitely worthy to stand wing-to-wing with the best of Italy.
Bottom line: German power in Italian style.
Price: around $350,000.
