The Wellesley’s cigar lounge is למעשה a covered and heated terrace. It is impossible to miss the portrait of Fidel Castro with a cigar, proudly displayed on the wall; and, in true English fashion, there is also an iconic image of Winston Churchill, the eternal cigar firmly clenched between his lips.
The cigar menu, along with the food and drinks menus, is available via QR code. The staff is highly professional and deeply knowledgeable about cigars, always happy to assist. Inside the vast walk-in humidor, cigars with a total value of approximately two million pounds are displayed and offered for sale. The selection includes renowned brands such as Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, Cohiba, Bolívar, and more. This is the largest collection in Europe of cigars sold individually.
The humidor was designed in collaboration between the Italian company DeArt, which specializes in bespoke humidors, and the luxury architectural firm Fox Linton. A striking marble inlay map of Cuba decorates the floor.
The bar offers, alongside classic cocktails, an extensive range of Scotch whiskies, including an impressive collection of Macallan bottles from rare and sought-after vintages. The food menu is rich and varied, making it entirely possible to enjoy a full meal here, with a selection of starters, pasta dishes, barbecue plates, American-style steaks, as well as coffee and tea.
The entire venue is designed in an elegant and luxurious yet contemporary style. Glass and mirrors dominate the walls, deep and classic leather armchairs fill the space, and a wall-to-wall carpet in a deep navy-blue tone covers the floor.
