Oceans of Pleasure
A Cruise Vacation? A Luxury Cigar Lounge? Why Not Both?
Vast oceans, slow horizons, and a perfectly cut cigar—some pleasures simply belong together. If you’re dreaming of pairing a premium smoke with a front-row seat to the sea, these four onboard venues deliver the vibe: plush seating, curated humidors, top-shelf pairings, and views that do half the talking.
Here are four places worth seeking out when you want your cigar with a salty breeze and a serious sense of occasion.

Making Fantasies Come True
Meridian Bar — Disney Fantasy
It turns out Disney knows how to fulfill adult fantasies, too. Disney Cruise Line (a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company) offers a dedicated smoking-friendly venue on Disney Fantasy: Meridian Bar, located on Deck 12. It’s not a traditional cigar club—it’s a bar—but it’s an easy, polished spot to settle in with a cigar.
The lounge extends outdoors for guests who prefer to smoke in the open air. Inside, you’ll find a humidor and an impressively broad cigar lineup, featuring respected names such as Romeo y Julieta, Rocky Patel, Montecristo, Arturo Fuente, and more. You can buy single cigars across a range of price points, or opt for “smoking packages” featuring three to four cigars.
Design-wise, it’s generously sized and warmly classic: burgundy and light-brown leather armchairs, wood-paneled walls, a long liquor bar with matching stools, and large windows that pull the ocean right into the room.
Dress code: Casual. Shorts are fine—but no tank tops, swimwear, or beach attire.
Ship snapshot: Disney Fantasy features 1,250 staterooms, 14 decks, and measures 340 meters in length. Styled like Disney castles and palaces, she sails year-round to destinations including the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and Bermuda.

Where Freedom Smells Like Vacation
Connoisseur Club — Liberty of the Seas (Royal Caribbean)
Royal Caribbean operates some of the world’s biggest ships—and on select vessels, you’ll also find dedicated cigar lounges. One of the most striking in the fleet is aboard Liberty of the Seas, home to the Connoisseur Club.
This is a classic cigar lounge with a distinctly British gentlemen’s-club sensibility: thick wall-to-wall carpeting, art pieces, dark wood walls, and deep suede armchairs in beige with brown leather accents. The lounge accommodates up to 35 guests comfortably and includes a large humidor maintaining optimal conditions for an array of cigar choices—ranging from leading Cuban brands such as Montecristo, Cohiba, and Romeo y Julieta, to high-quality non-Cuban options.

The bar program is built for pairing: whiskey, cognac, and other spirits, plus a robust international wine list. Newer smokers are welcome—staff are happy to guide you toward the right cigar for your palate and match it with a complementary drink.
Age policy: 21+ on sailings departing the United States; 18+ on sailings departing elsewhere.
Dress code: Casual—think polo shirts, tailored trousers or dark denim, summer dresses, and even a light blazer.
Ship snapshot: Liberty of the Seas sails to destinations including the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and Bermuda. She carries 4,000+ passengers, spans 15 decks, and measures 342 meters. Onboard highlights include an ice-skating rink, three pools, eight restaurants, and 12 bars and lounges (including the cigar venue), plus a wide range of staterooms and suites—some with balconies.

The Flagship Feel
Humidor Lounge — Norwegian Prima (Norwegian Cruise Line)
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) operates a fleet of 18 ships, and on 15 of them you’ll find a cigar lounge. Norwegian Prima, the first ship in NCL’s premium class, launched recently and has already earned industry recognition.
Her onboard cigar venue, Humidor Lounge, offers a selection of highly regarded brands including Cohiba, Montecristo, Arturo Fuente, La Aurora, and Partagás, in multiple price tiers—along with flavored options such as Cojimar Señoritas. The lounge is equipped with humidors featuring temperature controls and carefully tuned soft lighting.

Naturally, there’s a full bar—expect rum, Scotch, bourbon, whiskies from around the world, brandy, and cognac. The design leans classic-luxe with teak and walnut wall cladding, leather and suede seating in tan and brown tones, glass cabinets with gold accents, and curated artworks that elevate the whole atmosphere. Nearby, you’ll also find an adults-focused game room with tabletop games and darts—perfect for extending the evening after your last draw.
Ship snapshot: Norwegian Prima measures 294 meters and accommodates up to 3,100 guests (double occupancy), supported by approximately 1,500 crew members. The look is contemporary and modern, with a range of cabin categories, expansive public spaces, 11 restaurants, and crowd-pleasers like an onboard racetrack. The exclusive The Haven enclave includes ultra-luxury suites—some designed by Italian star designer Piero Lissoni—with 24/7 butler service.

A Basket of Smoke on Polar Seas
The Cigar Lounge — Le Commandant Charcot (Ponant)
For those who want their cigar experience rarer—and their scenery wilder—French luxury line Ponant operates the boutique expedition vessel Le Commandant Charcot, designed for high-end journeys into the Arctic and Antarctic.
Onboard, The Cigar Lounge is a refined hideaway offering premium cigar collections from top-tier houses including Cohiba, Trinidad, H. Upmann, and Montecristo. The lounge is intimate—about 25 m²—and located on Deck 5, near the promenade and adjacent to the main lounge.
The design is moody and elegant: black slate flooring, mahogany humidors with soft internal lighting, dark grey walls, and art pieces that add quiet drama. Large windows frame the sea in cinematic style. Seating is contemporary—soft camel-toned leather armchairs—paired with black coffee tables and a compact bar serving fine spirits and prestigious French wines. A small selection of books on cigars and spirits rounds out the atmosphere.

Ship snapshot: Despite her expedition DNA, Le Commandant Charcot offers yacht-like luxury partly thanks to her compact size (150 meters long) and privacy-oriented public spaces. As an icebreaker, she can travel deeper into frozen regions and open routes that were once impossible for commercial cruising. The ship carries expert expedition staff and researchers, and uses a hybrid system powered by electricity and liquefied natural gas intended to reduce environmental impact.
She accommodates just 245 guests in 123 staterooms and suites, supported by 220 crew members, with multiple pools, three bars, and two restaurants—including one featuring cuisine from the iconic chef Alain Ducasse, served on fine French porcelain.
Closing Tip (Aficionado’s Note)
On cruises, cigar venues can fill up quickly—especially after dinner. If you want the best seat and the best draw, arrive a little early, order your pairing first (cognac, aged rum, or a measured Scotch), then choose your cigar once your palate has settled into the mood of the evening.
