Bvlgari introduces one of the most distinctive watches we have seen recently: the Maglia Milanese Monete Secret Watch, a women’s timepiece that brings together the worlds of fine watchmaking and high jewelry.
Its most striking feature is an ancient Roman coin bearing the portrait of Emperor Caracalla, which serves as a secret cover concealing the watch dial beneath it. The coin is surrounded by a raised, diamond-set frame, further emphasizing the jewel-like character of the timepiece.
The case is crafted from 18-karat rose gold, with a polished finish and clean lines that echo the elegance of the Art Deco style. Beneath the coin, the white mother-of-pearl dial is adorned with twelve diamond-set hour markers.
Completing the design is a Milanese mesh bracelet, also crafted from 18-karat rose gold. Its construction draws inspiration from a traditional Renaissance-era gold-wrapping technique, adding another historical dimension to a watch that seamlessly combines antiquity, jewelry craftsmanship, and contemporary haute horlogerie.
Price: approximately €157,000.
