Daniel Roth, a pioneer of independent watchmaking who rose to prominence in Switzerland during the 1980s, has returned to the spotlight in recent years under the patronage of Louis Vuitton.
Renowned for meticulous hand-finishing and refined classical design, Daniel Roth now presents a beautifully openworked version of the minimalist Extra Plat. The watch features a skeletonized dial and movement components crafted from 18-karat rose gold, revealing the mechanical architecture beneath.
The timepiece retains the distinctive double-ellipse case shape that has become a signature of Daniel Roth, while adopting an even slimmer profile, measuring just 6.9 mm thick. The openworked display is exceptionally restrained: apart from the hour and minute hands, there are no hour markers or indexes, allowing the movement itself to take center stage.
The watch is extensively finished by hand, including the meticulous black polishing of its steel components, underscoring the artisanal character for which Daniel Roth has long been celebrated.
Price: approximately €92,280.
