The Girard-Perregaux 1966 Full Calendar draws inspiration from the elegant design language of 1960s watches while celebrating the Swiss manufacture’s long-standing achievements in precision timekeeping and chronometry.
The collection also reflects Girard-Perregaux’s historical pride in its technical accomplishments, including recognition from the Neuchâtel Observatory, an institution closely associated with the pursuit of exceptional chronometric precision.
Measuring 40 mm in diameter, the watch features a classically proportioned case distinguished by smooth, rounded lines that reinforce its understated vintage character.
The centerpiece is its full calendar complication, displaying the date, day of the week and month, accompanied by an elegant moon-phase indication. Together, these functions give the dial considerable information while maintaining the refined aesthetic associated with the 1966 collection.
Inside is a sophisticated in-house mechanical movement comprising more than 295 components and incorporating 27 jewels, highlighting the technical complexity concealed beneath the watch’s restrained exterior.
Originally introduced in precious-metal versions, including rose and white gold, the model is now also available in stainless steel, offering a more contemporary interpretation of its classic design.
