Moritz Grossmann Universalzeit – International Timekeeping
On its dial, you’ll see a meticulously rendered world map showing the current time in six major cities. Each city’s time is displayed at its exact geographic location.
This watch blends technical ingenuity with refined aesthetics, delivering global timekeeping in a form only Moritz Grossmann could imagine.
The Universalzeit, crafted by the German haute horlogerie house Moritz Grossmann, ranks among the most globally oriented timepieces ever created. Its dial features a beautifully detailed world map and shows the time in six major cities, each precisely positioned according to its real-world location.
Moritz Grossmann carefully selected these cities because they do not observe daylight saving time. This choice ensures the displayed time remains accurate—down to the minute and second—as shown by the central minute and second hands.
The city times appear in a 24-hour format on a single rotating disc. The numerals face different directions depending on their geographic placement. As the disc rotates, it updates the times across all six cities simultaneously and seamlessly.
Combining precise engineering with understated elegance, the Universalzeit carries a price of €42,000—an apt figure for a watch that truly brings the world to your wrist.
