The Season’s Surprise Rolex GMT-Master II
This watch was undoubtedly the highlight of the Basel world 2018 exhibition.
A timepiece that managed to surprise many.
Just weeks after Rolex announced the discontinuation of the ‘Pepsi’ in the white gold version, this model was unveiled with numerous innovations.
Firstly, the Basel: available in two colors, blue and red, and for the first time with a steel case and Jubilee bracelet.
Secondly, the case: featuring new, slightly smaller dimensions with a diameter of 40mm, where the central part is crafted from a single block, and the back is screwed onto it.
The caliber is a new GMT with a second-time zone, manual winding, a 70-hour power reserve.
Equipped with a non-magnetic escapement and additional features to withstand shocks and vibrations resulting from an active lifestyle.
The matte black dial, with white gold indices, bears the traditional Rolex signature under a sapphire crystal with a Cyclops lens.
Price: approximately $15,000.
